The Final Marchlands

So, just finished watching The Marchlands! What did you think of it? It was the final of the final! I am really looking forward to getting the DVD, I need to catch up on DVD Boxsets! Also, Some new promo shoots...

I will get to watching Marchlands in a minute! Also, I will hopefully install a Coppermine Gallery for this website. The truth to tell is... Well, I don't know how to yet! If anyone knows how to install these things your help would be much loved and you will be credited! As soon as we have a gallery I will get straight to work on 'Marchlands' pictures! I won't be able to screencap yet, Sadly, but I will once I'll be able to get the DVD! Just a reminder, It is ready for pre-order now if you want to be first on the list to get it!

We have really been exploring Ruth's personally i think much more than anyone else's and would really love a new Marchlands interview. Sadly, There aren't any at the moment to be seen. Wheather that was episode 4 or 5 airing last night, The Marchlands was on. I thought it was much more interesting in the 80s at the moment though, The death women Olive put the button thing on the grave of Alice's after here mother burned the coat. More exciting Marchlands soon i guess!

At the moment I am very busy, like always! But much busier than ever! As its half term I have been having tons of friends round and going to friends because school is off! Its seemed to have gone very quickly. Marchlands is tonight, remember to watch!

What's your character Ruth like?

"Empty in the beginning. And incredibly sad and lost and feels like she's hitting her head against the wall. I think my character wants to talk about it and go over every little detail of the evidence she's given to try and find the way into discovering the actual truth, whereas the people closest to her want to move on. They've grieved and they're not over it by any means but they think they have to put it in the past. It's an exhausting part because every scene is very highly emotional, and even if it wasn't, I suppose people don't wake up and forget that's happened to them. Every time you wake up there's that energy of trying to drag yourself through a day. And when one person's in that state of mind it can affect everyone in the room. It was really interesting to work during scenes like that where there's an elephant in the room the whole time."

You said you don't know what it's like to lose a child - was it quite hard to put yourself in that mindset?"

You've got your lines, which is 90% of your work done anyway. Whether I think I'd react in a certain way or not, if my character says a certain thing, that's how that person reacts. You've got to go as dark as you can in your head, but in no way do I think I came home with any understanding of what that was like for anyone. But you just have to concentrate and you've got to focus as much as you can with the experiences you have and with the words you're given."

What was it like playing a role in the 1960s?"It's really helpful, because you shoot it with all the cars and the costumes and the hair. I suppose posture is one thing. I kept getting into trouble because I'd slump on the table with my elbows on the table. Things like that I had to be reminded of. But we're not trying to tell the story of a 1968 family - it's just a family from the 1960s and they've gone through this thing. The costumes and make-up do all the hard work with that because they create your look and the props department created this incredible set - it's like going into a museum."

What was it that attracted you to the show?

"At the time I'd just come off another job that was completely different - I was playing a 25-year-old who lived in a South East London council block being chased by aliens. Also at the same time I was filming One Day, which is based on the novel by David Nicholls. That was quite comedy and the part I was playing was really fun and vibrant. I think when I went up for Marchlands I didn't think I'd get it - I kind of thought I wouldn't be right. I get told a lot in auditions I'm too aggressive! Not with the person, with the emotions. Whereas that part needed to be really soft and really vulnerable. But I think I was really upset that day and just went in and loved the director, and he gave me fantastic notes. It couldn't have been more different to everything I'd done so far that year. And the cast was really exciting. I think it's quite an ambitious piece for ITV which I really like - it read like nothing I'd read, because it had this really sinister element to it."

Thanks to Marchlands.net we have some more information on Ruth Bowen and Jodie portraying her. At the current moment I am still building the site with lots more to come. We need to boost up on lots of other things as well! I find the fansite world fun! I am still working on every inch of this site, Not including the latest news on The Home, here, as there will be much more every time I've seen more serious updates on Jodie! I think that really as soon as I saw Jodie in The Marchlands I should have created this fansite though I really thought I was done with making websites in January and would have a break, January 2011 SO summed up my website collective! Jodie Whittaker might not have been the best choice to star in a supernatural drama. A childhood spent watching horror movies has left her so jumpy that even the question of whether she believes in ghosts is enough to put her into a panic.

“I don’t know if I believe in them and I don’t really want to say, because I’m in the house on my own at the moment,” she laughs. “I’ve never had any kind of ghostly experience, but I would be absolutely terrified if I did. Paranormal activity taps into my ultimate fears.”

“I was stupid when I was little. I watched Poltergeist and The Exorcist when I was about ten and I really shouldn’t have. Now unfortunately I have an overactive imagination. ITV’s new spooky drama is the story of three different families living in the same house – in the Sixties, Eighties and the present day – all linked by the spirit of a young girl who died in mysterious circumstances.

Grand Opening

Hello and welcome to Everything Jodie Whittaker. I've been waiting to create a fansite on Jodie since the "Marchands" Tv came around. I have searched in many places on the internet and no Fansites on the actress herself were found so I decided to Create one.

My Mum "dragged" me into Marchlands. Though I'm glad she did otherwise I would not have been able to create this fansite, Know about her and to watch some incredibly powerful part of ITV now! I have been thinking wheather I should or should not create a fansite on Jodie but then I decided to go ahead. She was 'Unknown' to me until she first spoke on The Marchlands and she was amazing!
